Karaage Fried Chicken
Japanese style fried chicken
===== Ingredients =====
4-5 chicken thighs cut into bite-sized chunks
2 cloves garlic, minced
2tbsp soy sauce
2tsp grated ginger
potato starch
salt
pepper
green onion
===== Instructions =====
1. Combine chicken, garlic, soy sauce, ginger, salt and pepper. Cover and allow to marinate at least 30 minutes, up to 8 hours.
2. Heat oil in dutch oven to 325F. Toss chicken in potato start and shake to remove excess. Fry 4-5 minutes at 325F then remove from oil.
3. Raise oil temperature to 350F. Fry chicken again for 2-3 minutes to crisp fully. Serve with rice and sliced green onion.
